Description
DESERT STYLE JACKET/ FASHION JACKET/ VINTAGE JACKET/ TRIBAL DESIGN JACKET/ BOHEMIAN COAT/ PATCHWORK JACKET
The Banjara are a nomadic tribe found throughout South India and believed to be descendants of the Roma gypsies of Europe who migrated through the rugged mountains of Afghanistan to settle down in the deserts of Rajasthan 2300 years ago. They are famous for their colorful textile craftsmanship and unique types of embroidery art.
In this special collection, handmade vintage Rabari fabrics we sourced from the villages of the Banjara tribes in the Kutch region of Gujarat are repurposed into warm, practical jackets. Lovingly hand-embroidered, each of these tells a story of its own. Because they are vintage (approximate 40+ years old), they have signs of usage (please check the photos). This makes them no less beautiful. Instead they become even more interesting and alive. You will love having this jacket as a part of your wardrobe!
